Policy Work
What is social policy work?

Often when someone comes to see us for advice, their problem has been caused by an unfair policy or piece of legislation.
Social Policy work is part of our day to day work and is undertaken by every bureau in the country. We collect information on the problems our clients face so we can help to influence change and make society fairer.

Nationally, the number of clients we work with each year makes it possible to spot trends and comment with authority on the strengths and weaknesses of different policies.

Through Social Policy work we are able to change policy, practices, behaviours, attitudes and legislation.
