As a Volunteer, you will play a central role in tackling injustice, reducing poverty and social exclusion, and enabling people to realise their full potential.
- The Gateway role involves listening to clients, gathering details, and researching information to empower them to manage their problems.
- The Customer IT and information role supports people at FCHO offices to search the web and use online self help tools. For more information on this role only, please email email@example.com
- Adviser roles give more in-depth advice and support on the options available to people with more complex problems and the kind of action they can take.

About Citizens Advice Oldham and Rochdale
Our Volunteers deliver the gateway service via our Adviceline and Webchat and (coming soon) via Email. Some of our Volunteers continue their training to become Generalist face to face advisers.
What are we looking for?
No formal qualifications are needed. You must be enthusiastic about learning and applying new knowledge (with our support) motivated, and able to commit your time. You will be committed to fairness, social justice and equality. CA volunteers benefit from free training, ongoing support and reinbursment of travel expenses.
Training can result in an accredited qualification which, along with the experience of volunteering itself, helps people develop skills for life.
A commitment of 6 hours per week for a minimum of six months is required.
